Puerto Vallarta – A Destination Wedding Paradise

Puerto Vallarta is known around the world for its famous Malecón (seaside walkway). But that’s not the only feature that has consistently rated it as one of the friendliest towns on the planet.

Filled with natural colors, vibrant culture and Mexican charm, we’re sure you’ll find exactly what you’re dreaming of here for your destination wedding.

There’s plenty to do in Puerto Vallarta

One of Mexico’s highest-rated resort towns, Puerto Vallarta hugs the Pacific Ocean and boasts breathtaking mountain and bay views. Many of our clients choose to plan their destination wedding here because there’s plenty to do both in town, and on the water.

Snorkeling, diving, and kayaking are all easily accessible for water-loving couples (and it’s a good chance you’ll see a humpback whale or dolphin along the way!).

In the nearby tropical jungle, you can really ramp up your adventurous side with bungee jumping and zip lining. When it’s time to relax and soak in the culture, take a stroll along the boardwalks in town to watch artists craft sculptures outside. The Malecón is a half-mile-long promenade that lines the city’s historic center with shops and restaurants.

As you fill your schedule with romantic things to do, consider going to the “Romantic Zone,” a made-for-lovers intimate square in town.

The climate

Puerto Vallarta’s climate is semi-tropical, with an average temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit in winter and 85 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer. The rainy season runs from June to September.

The beaches

Puerto Vallarta is nestled along Mexico’s largest natural bay and features palm-lined beaches and clear blue waters – perfect for a destination wedding backdrop. Los Muertos Beach is one of the largest in town, while Garza Blanca Beach is perfect for a pre-wedding picnic. If you, your loved one, and your wedding party want a unique experience, visit Los Arcos National Park, where you can explore the bay’s natural caves and underwater tunnels.

What you should know before planning your destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta

You’ll need a passport to enter Mexico. You can also visit http://travel.state.gov for more information on the travel documents you’ll need. Our team here at Complete Getaways can help you determine the marriage requirements and documents needed before you say your I Do’s, so that all you have to worry about is packing your bags.

While Spanish is the official language of the region, you’ll find that English is widely spoken and understood. The same can be said for currency: the peso is the official Mexican currency, but many inclusive resorts in Puerto Vallarta accept US dollars.

Speaking of resorts, you’ll find plenty throughout Puerto Vallarta. We recommend booking with an all-inclusive resort, as those allow you to really enjoy the paradise surroundings, without getting stressed about budgeting, doling out tips and more.

Our unique relationships with some of the most well-known resorts in the region mean that our destination wedding planners can match you with the best resort for your upcoming ceremony. We’ll work closely with you to determine what you want, what you can afford, and what’s available – all you have to do is show up!
